The Peter Salmon Art Club is excited to announce the inaugural Fundy St. Martins Plein Air Art Festival!

The festival will occur on June 12, 13 and 14, 2026. We invite artists and the broader community to visit, participate, and celebrate the beauty that surrounds us, through art.

What is Plein Air Art?
Simply put it is artists painting in the open air.

Registration Fee

Early bird special $35.00, prior to May 1; $45.00 after May 1.

Each registrant will receive a free Gala ticket valued at $35.00, 3 free lunches and a gift swag bag with goodies.

Registration can be complete and paid through our website using Eventbrite.

If you do not use Eventbrite contact Lori Doyle at (506) 643-0994 to register by phone with payment via e-transfer or check. Leave a message and Lori will return your call.

General Instructions

Registrants must be 16 years or older.

There will be an 80/20 split (80% going to the artists), for all paintings sold during the festival. Paining may be purchased from participants, in the field. The honor system will apply for the artists to forward the 20% commission to the Peter Salmon Art Club.

In order to display your paintings at the various showings, your art must be framed if applicable, and/ or with hooks and wires.

Accommodation

The St. Martins Country Inn is a major sponsor.

They have offered participants a special room rate for $149.00 + taxes per night for 2 persons. Full breakfast included. Book by email stmartinscountryinn@gmail.com or call (506) 833-4534. Advise them at time of booking that you are with the Art Festival to receive the special rate.

The St Martins Country Inn is located directly across the street from the Peter Salmon Art Centre.

Itinerary

We have arranged for a dinner and social get-togethers for Friday and Saturday evening. Attendance is optional. See details on the registration form.

Please bring a guest or friend. If they do not paint they are welcome to join the social gatherings and Gala event Sunday, June 14 with a $35 Gala Ticket. The Gala Tickets are sold on Eventbrite.

Friday, June 12/2026

9:00 to 12:00: Check-in at the Peter Salmon Art Centre, 304 Main Street, St. Martins, New Brunswick, Canada where you will be given a map with your pre-approved sights, lunch and swag bag. The map will also include all approved designated sites and amenities.

Registered artists are welcome to paint in designate areas for the remainder of the morning.

1:00 to 4:00: Timed event at The Caves. The location is designed on the Festival Map.

All participates wishing to paint The Caves will pick a spot in a location of their choice, overlooking of the Caves.

*Juried artists will be assigned a location from which they will paint the Caves in three hours or less!

4:00 to 5:00: All artists are invited to display their work to be judged.

*Juried artists will display their work at the Peter Salmon Art Centre and to be judged.

A first place, cash prize will be awarded to both Non-Juried Artist and Juried Artist.

7:00: Gather at the St. Martins Country Inn for your pre-booked dinner and social. (See registration form below for details)

*Juried artists, with examples of their work and their bio’s will be announced at a later date on our Web Site.

Saturday, June 13/26:

9:00 to 12:00: Pick up your lunch at the Peter Salmon Art Centre & any new information.

Full day of painting at designated locations.

7:00: Gather for a pre-booked dinner and social at the Caves Restaurant. (Cost is not included in registration) Those joining us can have their pick off the menu.

Sunday, June 14/26

9:00 to 12:00: Pick up your lunch and any new information at the Peter Salmon Art Centre.

You will have the morning to finish your piece(s).

1:00 to 4:00: Bring your art to an announced location for display and judging. Prizes will be awarded at the evening Gala.

5:30 to 7:00: Gala and location will be announced soon.

People's Choice Award will be award at the Gala. All those attending the Gala will be asked to vote for their favorite.

Weather is always a factor especially when painting outside. We have a number of areas that supply cover. We will also make every attempt to offer temporary cover, if necessary.
